Member Post nr. 22 SF Bay Area 81 320i	I think it's coming from the rear crankcase seal. I may have to replace the flex disk soon so, would it be possible to replace this seal?

Member Post nr. 5 saskatchewan, canada 79 320i, 82 320i	i think that you only need to disconnect the driveshaft to replace the flex disk. i dont think you would have to remove the whole transmission to do it.

Staff Post nr. 28 Arizona, USA 1981 BMW 320i	You could do the output shaft seal on the transmission with the flex disk removed. A big socket is required to get the output flange off though.
