the other day i was fishing around in my trunk and found some rust on the rear shock towers, it appears to be only surface rust. what would be the best approach to fix this, because i know 320i's are prone to rust in this area and i dont want my rear shocks to bust out in the future so i want to take care of it now.
thanks,

I noticed the same on my car about a month ago,I just used a brass wire brush to remove it and since the paint was not removed I will just watch it closely and cross my fingers.

If it's only superficial rust, you can check out my body repair page here. A bit of sandpapering, filler paste, some patience and common sense and you should be set.
If you have holes there, I suggest you have it looked at by a tech or mechanic and tell you what to do. If it's bad, it might require a welding job to be well done (like with my car). |

I had alot of pretty negative castor(?right?) on my rear back tires until i fixed the huge holes i had in my rear strut towers from rust.
Now im thinking of the benifits of a rear strut brace, anyone agree? |
