Hi,
Seems previous owner painted the chromed trims, so how to remove the paint without damaging the chrome so much? do i have to use any chemicals etc or just scrap with a scrapper?

If you scape them you will damage the chrome. |

I don't think these pieces are chrome.
I believe that the trim is anodized with a clear coat. I would try a paint stripper then re-apply a clear coat. |

I believe the trim is made of aluminium alloy. Having seen ur trim, best thing is to remove it before you apply any paint stripper (which can be bought from Ace Hardware - be careful tho, toxic stuff). You will probably remove the original clear coat below the paint. After paint has been removed, you could sand down the surface with the fine sandpape, say 1000 grit or higher, followed by brasso or other metal polish to a high shine, an then apply the clear coat. |

I have been told that it was aluminium as well, which can be polished. |

It IS aluminum. Try this remove the trimmings and then pour or soak it in brake fluid, keeping a close eye on the trim. After a while, you can just remove it with your finger nails without damaning them and your trim (which is probably more important). |

dont scrape it of, the trim is alloy which is then chromed, you can try using thinners, it depends on what paint is on them to how effect it will be, brake fluid is ok but it will soak into the trim, and you dont want that running onto your car paintwork as it will burn through it. |
