I would be very cautious of anything Bimmer Brothers offers.

Bruce,

Tell us about bad experiences. I have often thought of buying cars from them. They do carry nice stuff every once in a while.

Have looked at an number of Bimmer Bros' cars one time and another (I've got the itch for a CS Coupe, and they usually have a few for sale). There's nothing really WRONG with the cars they're selling, but on close inspection, they very rarely measure up to the descriptions provided, and, at least in my opinion, they seem to be looking for #2 condition prices for #3 condition cars in many cases.

They describe it as a suvivor? only by the skin of its teeth...i wouldn't go near it for half the price.

Mayan,

Not a story I would tell here.

Anyone dealing with them needs to have their eyes open and understand the market.

DOH! Never a good idea to show a picture of the instrument cluster, engine clearly running, with oil pressure and low volts warning lights lit!

yeah, buyers beware. Isn't the same car that was for sale a few times in Concord CA. Run search on Bay e30 dot net and bfc. IIRC, girlfriend was trying to sell car out of impound lot for 1200 originally and got a million calls.

I find the VIN plate strange........ if i recall correctly, Alpina keeps the original BMW VIN plate and add their OWN Alpina VIN plate to the car.

the unleaded only sticker is pretty common when a car is federalized for US use...dunno for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if the car also had cats and an added-on lambda sensor/frequency valve system like my 323i did- mine was a hack job at best! I've seen this on a number of grey market cars.

That vin plate is a home stamped thing, and i think the guy was p*ssed when he stamped it aswell!
Has Anyone got the vin plate number and put it in our vin checker?
Looks like it started life a M20 engined 323i.

VIN plates on USA "Grey Market" cars of that era range from hand stamped to printed film to whatever made the regional government grunt happy.

hmmm- I don't think it's even an alpina- do you guys?? No stripes/ B6 or Alpina badging, seats are wrong, wheels are wrong, trunk spoiler wrong.... do we need to continue??

It's certainly nothing like an original example- more likely a M30 engined 323i with an alpina instrument cluster, steering wheel, gear knob and front spoiler.

$5000US current bid is a joke.,,, I pitty whoever buys that car.

Also the running engine with oil and charge lights deffinately doesn't fill you with confidence

Aussie,

Actually $5,000 is the going price for a solid decent 323 over here. Not a bargain but not outrageous.

It could be a Hardy & Beck or Miller & Norburn Alpina. Not defending the car as I still maintain that anything offered by Bimmer Brothers is to be carefully examined.

hmmm- I had forgotten momentarily that you guys didn't get the 323i- so yeah- I guess the prices would be alot stronger in the US.

the car is a real B6 ! 100% real

the car is in bad shape ! needs alot of work
engine re build
rust
interior work
paint

A little history on the car-
bought by a guy in 2001 from another junk yard owner for $1,000. car sat for 2 years due to work that needed to be done, so it sat in the towing yard in the mud, rain, sun for two years.

then it was sold back in Feb/ march to a buyer seller guy for $2,250. then his partner Bimmer brothers took the car to the place and put it up on ebay, craigslist and so on.

the car does have EPA and BAR sticker
