Its easy. Someone taught it to me here.
These are engine parts, so I am using Rust-o-leum's HIGH HEAT black. It is a matte black. I spray the entire piece......give it a couple of days to dry............then here is the important part: use Scotch brand masking tape. The other brands will peel the paint right off...............tape around the roundel logo with several layers over anything that looks like the sander will hit..........sand the logo lightly until metal is revealed..............be VERY CAREFUL...........gently.........gently........then dust of any impurities, and apply the DupliColor High-Temp clear coat. It makes it shine as if it were powder coated. |
