I got a set of rebuilt Volvo calipers from Ireland engineering today. These are a cool set that have only one hydraulic line in. Anyone know if I should upgrade the booster or just bolt 'em up and go? If memory serves... I will need to hog out one of the bolt holes on the caliper to make them fit?

Secondly, while I'm there I figured I'd get some braided stainless brake lines. Who has a decent set at a decent price?

For street driving the stock Master Cylinder could be O.K. but the pedal might be low. If this is a club/track/autocross car update to a e12 master cylinder. It will bolt up to the booster and the stock res. will fit also. You will need to plug the two extra holes that it has. Happy Breaking!

I would assume that IE's calipers have already been machined so they're just a direct bolt on, right? If not you have to slot both holes about 5mm to set the caliper in further. How much did you pay for them? Volvo 240 calipers are available at fcpgroton.com for about $65 each. How did they modify the caliper to have only one inlet? Plug one hole?

If you only have 1 inlet port, I'm not sure an E12 MC will do you much good since you won't be taking advantage of the dual circuits. See how the pedal feel is without the stocker. I have the volvo 240s with the stock MC and an inline splitter mounted to the strut and am satisfied with pedal feel.

Here's a writup with pics:

I forgot, you can also buy goodrich SS lines from Bavauto individually or as a whole set if you want a place in the US.

Any idea if these calipers would fit under a 14" wheel?

They'll fit under 13" steelies, otherwise has to be 14" or bigger.
