I just bought a set of rear boge shocks that were back stocked from a dudes store, and had been on the shelf for years. How can i test them, when i push the pin in it shudders a bit, seems to jump, are they bad? |

Others could argue but I feel that it's not easy to judge if a shock is truly good unless it's on a car or if you have some sort of shock dyno testing rig. If it doesn't offer any resistance at all then it's shot, of course.

the thing is, it offers resistance, but it doesnt ever bounce back out. so i push it in, i feel resistance, but it never pushes itself back out. |

Hydraulic shocks usually will not push back out, even if they are still good. Gas charged shocks (like Bilsteins) will push back.

These are GAS shocks. U should get some resistence when pushing it in and it MUST extend itself to the max of the piston lenght BY ITSELF. Otherwise it is shot. |
