They are yellow with a red line at the bottom, its a 1982 323i.

Yellow makes me think Bilstein or Boge. If you clean up the shock a bit you should found a stamped number and manufacturer about midway on the housing. A lot of the time you can't see it if the shock is dirty.

......or Koni Sports or Monroes. Yellow is a popular shock color. You'll need more info than the color.

So i pulled one out, its a bilstein with a bmw logo, it looks hella old. Could it be stock?

If they are Bilstein, then thats good. You can get them refurbished if needed.

I have a set of these in my 323i but mine have been rebuilt recently by Bilstein so mine are essentially sports now. I believe they were available as a factory option- you can look them up on ETK if you have it.

How do I get them refurbished? how much does that cost?

also, the part number on them is weird, i can't find anything about these shocks anywhere.

They are yellow and have a small red stripe on the bottom, they also have a BMW and Bilstein logo

And yea, hehe East Bay
