Last week I bought a 325ic for use as my daily driver. I just couldn't stand the Miata any more so I sold it for $2,500, (1990, 200K, basic model) and got this 325ic for $1500, (1991, 175K, every option). I need to find a good E30 forum. I know a lot of you guys have E30's, what is the best forum out there? I tried to sign up on bmwe30forum, but I have not gotten the confirmation email to complete the sign up process. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

-Dave

bmwe30.net so far is the most 'mature' site I've found. There is also this site http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/index.php, but they seem to be a little less mature at times. Of course, you can also use the roadfly.com - but they can be flakey at times, too.

The E21 forum at http://www.bimmerforums.com/main.php but I don't know what the E30 forum is like.

there is also an e30 forum on Jeroen's e21 site... friendly bunch there. The e30 formum might be a little quiet, but Jeoren himself races a 320is.
(with 2.0L version of the s14 engine "Italian M3").

Thanks guys. This car is pretty solid, I just need a few pointers here and there to keep things going. Once I finnish my E21 I'll probably sell the E30. I can't wait to get my E21 back on the road, it's killing me to see it in so many pieces!

If you're the man in your picture you really should be driving a Vauxhall Vectra or vauxhall Cavalier

If you're more of the American "Michael Scott" then perhaps a Sebring!

Haha! That would definatly be a resounding no on the Sebring front! As for the Vauxhall Vectra or Cavalier, I only use that as my "mobile office" as I go off to sell chammies' and tampons....

I always thought this forum could greatly benefit by extending to E30s. They are twins as far as I am concearned, very much set apart from the 2002 that preceeded the E21 and the E36 that followed the E30.

I will now use the emoticons for the amusement of my daughter.....who gets a big kick out of them.

I agree. I like e30tech but it seems that in general it has several technical thoughtful participants and a lot of assholes.
I would like it if this forum opened up to e30s as 99% of the people on this forum are good eggs

I'd love to ask my e30 questions here as I'm sure most of you could answer them, but I don't want to step on anybody’s toes, this being an E21 forum. If it is decided to go ahead and mix some e30 stuff in here I am all for it.

I hope I'm not part of the 1% of bad eggs Pete!

I would really like to see it happen. Then again, the URL is "e21".

I have to say please please please no E30 forum. There are plenty of E30 forums out there already and the main reason I post here is the lack of other forums to load things down! I hate to see it but E30 forums lack the good "signal to noise ratio" that this forum has.

Funny you mention that, jamie... as I think that is much the reason why many would like to open this forum to e30 discussion. But, I understand that by openning this up to e30 discussion, then it may also open the door to more 'bad eggs'. I wonder if we could fine some sort of middle ground and unofficially open this forum to e30 questions? I too would feel much more comfortable asking my e30 questions here than anywhere else.

Well, that assumes that people that have E21s are generally nice, and people with E30s are generally pains in the asses.

I dont know about that.

I wouldn't go as far to conjecture that... my argument (and I'm guessing it's a similar notion for some others) is that 1) there are simply more e30 cars out there = more e30 owners and 2) there seems to be more bling-bling-type owners w/ e30s (and even more w/ e36 and so on) which tends to attract younger and more punkish crowds. No, young does not equate punk (as I am young, but don't consider myself a punk), but it does increase the probability.

Thats actually really funny.

Should we do a "bling bling" test before accepting applications?

Yeah, you are right about that. I actually got a distaste for the E36 M3 because it was predominantly a "bro" car here in Miami.

I too have recently acquired a '91 e30 "cabrio". I would also like to find a forum that is more like this one, that does (mostly) have intelligent discussion on a variety of topics, even tho opinions vary greatly. I however don't want to include e30's on this forum for fear that it would turn into what the others seem to be: Look how fast my car is, check out my NOS, check out my turbo (no offense, turbo guys-they can be fun. Ask me; I've owned a few((even a 320!))) I like to hear about and see Turbo'd cars, but when appropriate. It seems that all the e30 guys do is add turbos, but maybe I am wrong. Most of the e30 sites I have seen were shown to me by a friend who has a TURBO 325i! Maybe it's the fact that we appreciate our e21's despite the lack of aftermarket support that makes us different. Hell, anyone can build a ferocious e30 that looks sharp, but it takes a little extra to make an e21 that will attract a second or third look. It's that attention to detail that sets us apart, and I don't want to lose that on this forum.

What would the test be??????????

If your jeans show the top of your ass crack, you are either a plumber or a fat mechanic and you are in......However, if they show underwear and the back pockets hang behind your knees you're out?

If your jeans are big enough to double as a car cover......and you dont have a weight problem...you are out?

If the jewelry you wear weighs more than your engine block......

Hmmmm....isnt this "profiling"?
