I'm putting an M20 in my '77 320i and am considering buying a set of old Bilstiens cheep off ebay then having them reconditioned and revalved if necessary . The only difference I see between the 320i sets and the 323i sets is that the model number on the 320i is P30 0121 and the numbers on the 323i is P30 0121K. Does this K mean anything? Are the 323i shocks different because of the added weight? Will 323i shocks even fit on my '77 320i? If I buy the 320i set and send them in for reconditioning can I have them revalved to better suit my needs, i.e. larger engine?

Thanks for the help!

-Dave

I ran 320i stut housings and Alpina Bilsteins in my 2.7 car and had no problems whatsoever. The car handled fabulously.

Go to their website and get the number for their fascility in California. ALL of the work gets done there, and their staff is happy to answer questions.

I am sure they can do it. Give them a call first, and make sure to fill out their work order form to specify your requests.

rears are the same. fronts are larger and different valving matching the springs to handle the added weight of the engine.

... just be aware that the 323i has 51mm diameter inserts and all 4cyl have 45mm - at least for all european models.
