When a 323 has overheating problems, the auxillery fan cluth is often the solution, I took this and assumed it would be the same for the 320i, as i searched for a new fan clutch for my 320i i learned that it didn't have one. What could it be? |

Electric Fan in front of the radiator or behind, look and see what you have in there. |

...or thermostat, or plugged up radiator, or head gasket.
I'd look at the thermostat first. Look for coolant leaks as well- a pressure test set will help. Water pump won't usually just fail but it's possible- we've seen a rash of plastic impeller water pumps from late model VW's and BMW's. I doubt you have one in your M10.
