I was getting pissed about the huge jump in the prices for a lot of e21 parts so I gave MT a bit of my mind (tactfully, of course ).

Their response was pretty much expected. You,know..... Thank you for your mail, yes, prices have gone up but it's a freemarket society and global demand is on the increase. Yada X 3. All BS in my mind but what do I know?

To make a long story short, I was able to find everything at Walloth for a fraction of the price MT was charging, even with shipping thrown in.

FWIW, dashboards did go up globally, however the early model dashboards are still plentiful and not nearly as expensive.

Why not e-mail MT a link to the W&N website and tell them as it's a freemarket society they could stick their global price increases up their a*se

Well I have been getting most my parts from the local BMW dealer and the prices are cheaper then W&N.

I use www.motormec.co.uk for all my spares, they don't list the e21 on their site, but if you speak to Darren he is very good and it is all proper BMW stuff, not OEM! I got a new ignition barrel from him for £22 including postage (it came with two brand new BMW keys as well!)

e9, e12x2, no E21?
Er, OEM -- Original Equipment Manufacturer -- is proper BMW stuff. It's from the supplier BMW used for the original parts used to assemble the car, or their designated spares supplier.

Sorry, momentary lapse there, I meant pattern parts, not OEM
