Anybody here ever install a vacuum gauge? How many inches exactly is best gas mileage to shoot for? Any problems bringing the vacuum line into the dash?

I've Installed a Vacuum gauge before on my e21 not very difficult at all pretty easy to get it through the dash, when i tuned my m20 i was getting about (17 in hg) i couldnt get any better as the k-jet in my car was failing but i would imagine if u get the highest figure in inches of mercury before it begins to stumble cause its too advanced or too retarded then the engine should be at its optimal.
