I need to buy this panel again. BMW doesnt have them anymore, and is basically taking orders to produce them at some undetermined future date. I need the part now. There are plenty of pre-1979 Euro parts in the US in stock.
Will the USA part work with the Euro bumpers without making improvised cutouts?????
Help........this is holding up my paint job. |

i know they are visually different. All I need is for them to fit onto the frame the same........have the Euro bumper cutouts........and work with the Alpina bumper. |

It was really bent up. I ended up throwing it away in the move. The replacement is less than $125........so I figured........... |

I got some other stuff from them.
The guy at BMW seems to think the American and Euro parts are identical. He says that the item numbers are only one digit off, and that they usually do that for parts that are the same.
My concearns are the cutouts for the Euro bumpers and having it fit. I know I can get a Euro apron.....but it is pre facelift. Will it fit my body?
I know I can get an American apron for the right production date.....but will it have the Euro bumper cut outs?
What I cant get is a 79 and up Euro apron for my 82.

Have you tried MAXIMILLAN or Bav Auto.

I have looked at the exploded diagram of the e21 and they both can email it to you when they look up the part you need. They have both the early and late diagrams in there systems. |

I will call them.
I did look at the ETK, and the diagrams look identical from pre-facelift to after....... and both US and Euro versions seem to have the notches cut out for the Euro bumpers............but thats just a diagram. |
