Hello Everyone!

We are in the middle of installing an M42 into our 81 320...

Mounting and location of the motor went well, but now we are on the mission of how to wire in the beast.

Our 2 biggest obstacles right now, are speedo readings, and interfacing the different plugs.
Can anyone give me the pinout for this plug?

Thanks!

Which transmission are you using?

If you're using the M42 tranny you'll need to use a later speedo (electronic) and make a chopper wheel to send the signal.

didn't someone make a write-up on using one of those bicycle speedometers somewhere and just calibrating it to the car's wheel size? Said it was accurate w/in reason, economical, and even has a built in lap timer (and maybe even a heartrate monitor for you ... ha ha ha).

Pretty sure the guy with the bike speedo was cnvkellogg. He had that really sweet light blue track car, he was from Eugene. I think he sold his car though, I remember seeing it on Craigslist.
