I've literally spent hours searching various archives in regards to wheel/tire combos and my head is still aching from trying to sort it all out.
I procured a set of nice vintage Einke basketweaves for the Baur, 15x7, et20. My take on things is that I ought to be able to run 205's with no issue. Is this correct?? Can someone who knows more about this set me straight if I need it? |

I used to run 205/55 15 on 15x71/2's with no problems. But my ET is 13 NOT 20. Suspect u might get some rubbing. |

I would perhaps be well advised to put on some 5mm spacers to avoid issues. Any thoughts on a smaller size in the front? |

Bill-
The only problem with a staggered setup is finding matched sets of tires. It's hard enough to find the same model tire in both 205 and 195 sizes right now, much less in a few years. With almost every new car coming with 16" wheels standard now, the smaller sizes are being relegated to bargain brands, with major brands such as Michelin and Continental phasing them out, at least here in the US.
Oh, I am still researching the e28 Supereta wiring setup for you.

According to town fair tire Toyo Proxies are made in both 195 50 15 and 205 50 15. The tire rack also lists KUMOs in both of those sizes, and
Yokahama makes 195 50 15 as well. |

195 50 15 is a very common size, so there should be no problems. 205 55 15 is another matter all together and this is closer to the orig size, whihc most have forgotten by now. |

Side comment, may have already been addressed- you may need spacers with that wheel and tire combo.
My boss has Borbet wheels and 205/50/15 with relatively low suspension and it rubs a little bit. I don't think he's using spacers and I'm pretty confident that the Borbets aren't the correct E21 offset.

I'm expecting to put 5-10mm spacers in. It's been lowered a bit with HR springs so we'll find out when I put them on. There is so much fluctuation in respect to sizes between the manufacturers that I'd say it's a 50/50 shot the spacers will be needed. |
