I went to see it...the guy called me about 10 mins before i got there and asked if i could pick him up from the local pub... at least he was 'veeryfllexablewifthapricemate'
Its not a 318...aparently its a 323 with a solex but i couldn't understand a word out of him. Its got a recon head and gearbox and the nock in the bottem end sounds like a crank bearing (not that i really want the bottem end) I know the wheels alone are worth more than the car and the colour is really tacky as you might imagine. But yeah, i'm mostly after the wheels and i'm going over there another time when he's hopefully sober to make sure its a 323, i have a feeling its a 320 |

I think you should buy it and sell me the exhaust |

simmonds will probably be V4's or something, only looking at about $600-$700 worth, maybe $1000 at a pinch.
Id say it has done much more than 98,000km if the bottom end is knocking.
If its running a solex it should be a 320/6, though ive seen one or two 323i's running them using the gear, dont know why as the solex 4 barrel isnt all that great. |

Not worth the money. Even if it is a real 323i (id decode the vin to check), the bottom end knock is terminal and will need a rebuild. Bottom end issues can end up costing you a heap of money depending on how everything is once it is pulled appart. Its not worth the $1500, especially as a parts car, even with good wheels. Not even really worth a grand as if its a 79 model, it should lack a 5 speed.
Id personally probably steer clear of it. |

its had a 81 5speed econo put in it, its been reconed and short shifted... i'm after the reconed head and gearbox as well, but i'm only gonna offer a grand, i mean i can't even drive the car away it'll need to get towed...(hasn't been run in over a year) |
