I bought a convertible like this (not as nice looking )before I knew what a Baur was. When I took it apart to restore it, I found 2 by 1 steel box section welded to the tops of the wings and inside the rear wings to try and strenghthen it. However, the top of the wing was full of filler and full of rust. I'm not suggesting yours is, but it may be worth looking up inside the rear panel Also the T section on mine was fairly thin at the top with not much weld but plenty of filler. I am in the process of putting a Baur roof on it. |
