Will they fit onto the e21 mounting brackets? are the mounting brackets the same for the e21 and e30?
Can anyone help

cheers
John

The E30 lights arent a straight fit, you need to modify the carrier and/or bracket for them. So no, they arent a straight fit.

IMHO, angel eyes look tacky on an E21 (i cant remember if it was here of bimmerforums where someone had some), even more so with the dodgy aftermarket ones like you linked to. But, of course, choice is yours.

Indeed angel lights do look tacky, but the e21 already has them just turn your parkers on and look carefully.

well on OEM lights you can see an angel eye, not as strong as you would see on the e36 etc, but you can see them by standing at a short distance away and squating down. in low light, sorry its not a complete ring but it does give the impression of an eye, ill take a picture of mine soon and post it up.

I only asked because my new e39 has them and they are the best headlights I have ever used, they illuminate signs at about 3/4 of a mile!

I know what you mean about a slightly brighter ring on side lights, but I was thinking more of the extra light they provide rather than asthetics!

Modern E39 and newer lights are xenon lamps- rather different technology from what you see in the older cars.

You can use a modern reflector like the Cibie CSR's or even a modern Hella or Bosch H4/H1 lamp but it still will look rather different from the factory late model xenon lamps.

The factory lamps have electronic controls that aim the lights as to not blind oncoming drivers. Even then I find it annoying to be in front of or driving toward someone with the modern xenon lights.

Ditto, i hate being 1/2 mile infront of a car with xenon headlights at night on the motorway, it's gotta be my second pet hate after people indicating to go right at a roundabout...its a roundabout you can only go right!!! until you come off then you turn left of course!

Yes they do look like angel eyes: (This are my car's original Hella lamps....no mods at all)

You can barely notice it in this 3rd picture

I appreciate the sarcasm but....I never said they were angels eyes i just said they look alike. You can't deny that there is a light ring formed with the parklights. Rather classy

I like the parking light ring look, doing the same on the v8. I'm not a fan of the smiley look. No mods necessary (except minor wiring)to the e21 buckets just put the lights in.
