Ok, so I am pretty much aware of sizes and such, so I'm going to think out loud and hopefully some of you can throw in your wisdom to set me straight.

@ the junkyard today and saw some pretty decent looking (very little curb rash and even reasonably clean) Mahle-BBS 13x6 et13 (all 4). 1 problem, has wheel locks.

So, I'm trying to weigh my options...

I have stock 13x5.5 BBS (basketweave)
and 14x6 (bbs style) from the e30
and MiM 1900 15x7

I plan on using the MiM for the e30.

The e21 will be a track rat, and eventually I will need 2 sets of wheels, one for street tires, and another set for R-compounds (it has to drive itself to the track).

I currently have basically new Falken Zeix 502 on the 13x5.5 (stock BBS). I WAS thinking of using the e30 14x6 BBS's with spacers to put on the R-compounds. But, the rims I saw today would save me from 1) using spacers and 2) cheaper R-compoud tires ($10-20/ea. tire), but would it be at the cost of performance? Obviously, I'm also trying to minimize time and money expense (Don't have much of either).

I realize I'm probably not making much sense (sorry)... so please feel free to ask questions. I'm curious how you guys would weigh the variables. As always, thanks for your patience.

For best performance i once heard 15x7 on the back and 15x6 on the front. i'm going 15x7 all around with either bbs or superlites

Go with the 13x6 with 205 or 215 r-compounds. Cheap and effective.

Sweet... I was definitely leaning that way (13x6). Thanks oodles. Also, I saw 2 (not a set) 13x? wheels on an e30 that were 2, maybe 3, piece. I took it off but couldn't find a stamp anywhere telling me what brand or anything. Tire just read 185/70/13. If someone wants it to complete a set, let me know. I took a cell phon pic so IMS me your cell phone and I'll send it to you (I dont know how to upload pics from the phone, and I don't have Bluetooth on the PC).

I have a set of 70's Wolfrace with red inners, don't know how much they would cost to ship, 4 are good, 1 isn't and they all could do with a refurb (they are polished, or rather they were) They are 13 x 6. Something different me thinks.

DOH! I didn't get to the junkyard in time... hopefully it will be there next week and not in a nice little cube.

The junkyard quoted me $145 for the 4 13x6's. (I told them it was from a VW to hopefully lower the price a bit.) Am I being stingy in thinking this is a bit high for a junkyard price?

The BBS wheels I bought from the junkyard cost $33 each, or $132. It's about an average price, I guess. Try buying them from a VW speciality or wheel place and you're liable to pay 3 to 4 times that.
