I dont want my Baur to sound like a mustang or a rice cooker!!!
What exhaust mufflers should I go with. Dynomax is known for being quiet, but Magnaflow has the circular shape that mimicks stock.
Please help me keep my ride from sounding pimp'd up. |

I am starting to think about the same. A buddy has redone his M Coupe with Magnaflow and it sounds very good. Not ricey. |

Dynomax 17-141 super turbo muffler is a good choice, it's round and fits in the stock location with little effort. It's a reverse flow with rounded diverters in the ends to guide the gases for better flow. It has a nice deep tone with no ricyness at all.
The Dynomax 17-230 is a 6" straight through race muffler, I use one on my warmed up 2.0L in my '82 with an Edelbrock RPM muffler in the resonator location. This combination shows no loss in power over straight through pipes, the muffler cores are perforated-not louvered. It sounds REALLY good.
These are all 2.5" in and out and when used with a custom mandrel bent exhaust they work great.

Bruce...dont you have headers with stock pipes?
I thought you were happy with that. Why the change?
Ken,
I there a way to keep the stock E21 chrome tips on these without restricting flow? |

Ken,
I have looked in Froogle, Jegs, eBay, and other sites and cannot find the 17-141 model. Can you confirm that model number and info, please. |

Sorry, I couldn't read my own notes correctly...
