Hey Tricord, I'm not sure if this would be an easy thing to do, but I had a thought in battling the spam that's showing up. If you had a button for us to click on and 5 different people clicked on the spam messages it would be deleted. It's only an idea and I'm not sure if it's possible.

There isn't much that can be done about it, besides deleting what shows up.

One thing that would help is blocking automated registration (you have probably seen it elsewhere -- you have to type over a number or certain characters which supposedly cannot be automated).

I might check this more into detail next month, when I have a little more time

May I suggest somthing?......This isn't really for spam but I've never EVER seen spam on this perticular forum and I don't know why, but beside's that the lay-out is FUC*IN COOL MAN!!!! It's a little more fashionable and alot more attractive. Same feature's plus more, and also alot more animation (e.i: Smilie's and the like) The website(Forum) I'm refeing to was my home forum before I got my 323i. It's http://vipstylecars.com/index.php Go there and check it out....There's some phat ride's there and all the people are really cool and know ALOT about car's and more to the point SUSPENSION......Anyway I just thought that the layout and design of the forum was cool and that this site could be as cool if not cooler..........What you think about the idea of upgrading this forum?? Sorry to plug another forum it's just a great example.

Matt

This is the way to go.

Give your administrators the ability to delete those threads.........so you are not the only one doing it.

thats vbulletin and vbportal. Good software, you need to pay for a licence for it though, and it can be resource intensive, no idea what tricord's server is like.

I've seen one site have you answer a simple question. Bimmerforums just had me add 2+3. This might not eliminate spam, but perhaps limit it?

I help out with deleting as much as I can, but we still see what we see! It would be alot worse if I didn't!
