Hi everyone,
I'm having problems with my ignition coil i found a Bosch GT40RT ignition coil in the wreckers and decided to use it in my car as my car didnt come with a coil when i brought it. Finishing my engine i've noticed that it produces only a very small spark, i think it has something to do with the internal resistor, they sell another coil designated GT40T (without Resistor) you reckon this would be best suited??? I dont really want to use the original coil as this new one is much smaller & new than the oem type.
Another thing as well I've been told to purchase the bosch iridium plugs ( I have the bosch super 4's in the engine at the moment) should i get these iridium plugs???
thanks,
Simon.

the GT40T is suited for 320, 320i 520i (year: 78-80) would it be suitable as the 323 is somewhat similar to the 320?
im not sure if this is sold overseas |

You risk damaging ignition components if you use the wrong one, but all you need to do is check the resistance values and use a coil that matches the figures. They dont use a resistor.
Primary resistance = 0.4 ohms
I cant remember what the secondary resistance is, id have to check. |

im still not sure weather or not i should use iridium spark plugs, should i? or just keep my 4 point super 4 bosch plugs? |
