Is there a substitute to FatMat (Dynomat)? That thing is basically wallpaper with the company logo. I know it is a great product, but I dont care to paper my car with their graphics.....................especially if it is going exposed in the trunk area. |

Here is my solution for that problem:

The carpet I bought at Home Depot off the "by the foot" roll. About $20 as I recall. It matches my door panel fabric remarkably well too.
I adhered on top of the Fatmat it with 3M clear silicone. It holds it well yet it can easily be removed if needed. |

Found some other stuff....but at three times the price:
b-quiet offers a similar product to Dynamat, but without the logos wallpapered everywhere. Unfortunatly, it is literally 3 times the price.
There are also spray on sound deadeners that claim to perform better (of course)......but they seem messy......seems like spraying undercoating in your interior.
Eastwoods also offers a version of Dynamat hood liner that isnt offered in the Dynamat site. As pictured in Eastwoods site it is sans the logos.

Why would you put it in the trunk?
When I bought it there was no logo.

Last I checked it was a lot cheaper than dynamat too. They must have moved upmarket.

I put FatMat in the Baur I'm not all that hyped on it. Since the car's a convertible and noisy anyway it didn't really do a whole lot. If I had it to do again I probably wouldn't.
That being said, it might make a difference with a coupe. I put it in the 535 and it seems to sound a bit tighter since it went in. |

Well, its not just engine noise you want to dampen. Most of the loudspeakers are in that back panel with the magnet in the trunk. The trunk is basically a speaker cabinet....like the doors. |

I read somewhere that Dynamat stinks up the car. Is this true? |

You aren't going to hear it anyway with the top down. |
