heya,
I asked a little while ago if anyone knew what ECE meant in regards to the specs of my bmw (1977 E21 320/4 M10). The suggestion given is EastCoastEuro. This doesn't seem to fit my car, as it's not set up with any of the specifications needed for the US, such as bumper etc, so was just wondering if there are any other suggestions?
Cheers, bluepiper |

Economic Commission for Europe.
They develop guidelines for development of many different products in the EU, including vehicle production. So they set things like safety and crash testing, component design, etc. Its the equivilant standards controlling body, ECE on the production info indicates it conforms to applicable ECE standards.
Most people just use it as a way to differ between US spec and european spec vehicles. |
