Is there anything wrong with replacing the L-Jet injector plastic hoses with some stainless tubing bent to imitate the old yellowing.......more like oranging......hoses?

originally they came with braided lines. They were replaced in some markets by the plastic examples we all know well

braided stainless steel? Why would anyone replace them with plastic?

Is it OK to go back to braided stainless....and if so.....where to source it?

I got them off of a similar vintage VW at a local junkyard for my m10. I'm assuming fitting sizes are thes ame for your m20?

Could you take a quick pick?

Fitting should be the same....but what about length? Are they all the same length?

The lengths were not perfect. My small m10 and large engine bay make that OK, but probably not for you. As you can see, I wasn't going for any beauty points.

Also, I take no credit in this knowledge. Someone from this forum appraised me of this when I had to replace my leaking injector lines. If I recall, he also said Mercedes and/or Volvos could be used too - but that needs to be confirmed.

What model VW were these from.....or can be sourced from?

Is the length a factor? Do these need to be equal length or something for technical purpose or something?

They were mostly rabbits or old jettas. To make sure, i just took it off and fitted it to an e21 that I found at the yard. I'll bet any model from the 80's would work, but I don't know. My best guess would be all the cars that used identical fuel injection systems would have it (as listed in the Watson's Bosch book).

As for length, I figured I'd just get whatever would fit. I didn't think that length would affect pressure enough to worry, but I very well could be wrong. Someone with knowledge will have to answer that.

I've also pulled them off an Audi 100 or 80. They're fine for M10's but you won't get them long enough for an M20, unless you don't care about the routing.

Are the connections standard? It seems that maybe stainless tubing may be a way to go. it itsnt that expensive, and can be bent and cut to an exact fit.

My question would be on the connections.
