Ok, the switch from the x5 to the e21 has produced its first incident. I left the lights on and drained the battery.

Is there an upgrade to make the lights go off automatically when you turn off the ignition?

Was it headlights or side marker (and tail) lights? Perhaps a difference in the euro-version vs. US version of wiring, but with ke out, only the side markers will stay on. Headlights will only work w/ the key in the ON position and side markers in all positions. I personally wouldn't want to mess w/ this unless you install a manual switch for the always on lights (so have it so that markers are only on in the ON position unless you manually switch it to always on power). That's only thing my simple mind can see happening. (Note again: my simple mind)

Mine turns off the main beams and leaves the dip beams on - parking lights. Useful feature, and i understand that it is suppose to last for a few hours and not drain the batt. Mine you if your fog lamps are on the it does not switch.
