Does anyone have a E21 323i head that they would want to sell?
I cant decide. I have the free breathing 325i head, but I really like the knarly response from the E21 323i head.
I know the other one is better breathing and can be coupled with performance headers and a hot cam.....but I am not sure I want that. I like the feel of this 323.....and would want to keep its character.

I have one but it will probably need a rebuilt. I bought it on ebay as a spare and never used.
Any interest?

What happened to the one you had?
I think mine is still kicking around here somewhere. I'll look for it when I get to my storage shed later this week. |

The one in there needs a valva job. Its consuming more oil than it should. I want to have it rebuilt, and ready to swap out with the one in there. Less down time. So, I dont mind having work done on it, but obviously one that is in good shape would be nice too. |

you can try retapping it. Ive seen people use things ranging from helicoils to fitting brass bushes to fix a damaged thread. |

is it possible (advisable) to adjust the valves and replace valve oil seals with the head on the block? |

this has been talked about i dont remember where. it can be done by using an air compressor or something like that to pop the seals out. its somewhere here on the forum. it didnt seem simple to me annoyingly enough because i think most of us need to change our valve seals. |

Yeah, just found it....but the conclusion is the same....get your hands on a second head and do the work while the first one is still running.
On the other hand, that STP oil treatment stuff seems to have stopped the problem. Oil consumption has slowed down by a lot. I take it that this is just a temporary fix, right? |

. I change the oil often and use that stuff, i don't plan on changing the valve seals soon as if got other worries and its time consuming/expensive. Hey! when you rebuild the new head and put it in, sell me your old one so i can change my seals!
