Tech Forum : Thoughts on Flasher, emergency lights problem

Post nr. 247	Hey all, so Ive been thinking about the flasher light switch and the ignition switch problems faced by many of our e21s, and i think there is a correlation. While i had my ignition bad, every time i plugged in the flashers they blew out. I completely just gave up in the end. So, if your flasher goes out, check you ignition switch? does this sound viable? Anyone have a wiring diagram they could check?

Post nr. 218	The emergency flasher & turn signals are powered from fuse 15, which is in turn powered by the "start/run bus" (i.e. the "on" and "acc" terminals) coming off the ignition switch (along with fuses 12 and 18), so yes, if you have a defective ignition switch, it's very possible for there to be a related problem with the turn signal/flasher circuit. On the other hand, if you're NOT having issues with the other circuits powered from the start/run bus, I'd suspect that the two problems might be coincidental.......
