AHH! Crazy problem with my 323i, I just took it for a drive and after warming up it started to die, the idle jumped around abit, i would rev and it would be like a delayed reaction and then if i contuned driving it would die. Inside and out it smells a bit like burning rubber or tar.
any ideas! this is my daily driver!
Today I:
Tried to take out the WUR but one of the hex bolts is stripped, so i took off the lines, cleaned it up with carb cleaner as much as I could and put on steel braided lines that DogBox sold me.
I also put in a kjet filter and then took it off as Im planning on oiling it tommorow.
Lights dont die, just the engine.
help please! what could this be! |

Try to back off (ccw) your idle adjust screw located on the L side of the air flap housing (housing bolted onto intake manifold. This did the trick for me as an interim before I could find where my air intake leak was coming from. |

is it at all possible that a hose is rubbing or touching something it shouldn't be? Thus, you get your burning smells and a vacuum leak big enough to get your symptoms? |
