Tri-
I wouldn't reccomend the 3.91 with a stroker. I had the same setup and found several drawbacks-
1-spent all of first gear spinning tires and sliding around, even with limited slip
2-spent more time shifting than accelerating
3-anything more than 80 mph relegated to 5th gear

I changed to a 3.64 limited slip and am much happier. Strokers have too much torque to make use of steep gears, and the 3.64 seems to make very good use of the 2.7's flexible power curves.

Thanks for the heads-up, myer.

There has been a slight change of plans due to the unavailability of a five speed gearbox. I'm going to keep the stock diff (3.45) with a four speed gearbox for now. I have been passenger in another race 323i with this setup and it seemed to run quite well. I'll have a more powerful engine so it should be alright.

That's a nice ride! I can imagine how great the sound of the engine is when the solex opens second stage with that 2.7! I can also imagine how un-economical it is

BTW: 25 is my racing number also!

Actually, last track day I stuck the second stage barrels open with some zipcord thingy, they're always open now

The car should be back on the public road by November. It'll be 25 years old then, and I can get registration for cheap and without tech inspection (it wouldn't pass any of the tests I think )

It'll be crazy to have the stroker on the road, the torque is just addicting. Can't wait to take it for a spin round the block rather than a spin round the track..

This summer there is a track day planned in Assen (NL) and Zolder (BE). Not sure about Spa-Francorchamps (BE) yet. We'll see.

Your E21 looks fantastic. Where could I find that BBS front spoiler? I don't mention the rims. Just restore it and keep it until the E21 is accepted and priced as a genuine collection car...

Next track day is friday 1st of September. If you're in the neighborhood, pop in and come have a look

If not, expect some pictures of the event on the website.

Got a new set of Dunlop slicks in today!

I wonder how they will compare with the Michelin set I had earlier. Supposedly, the Dunlop compound is a little less soft and so more durable. We'll see friday
