Forgive me if this has already been covered......
I'm in the process of installing a Supersprint exhaust system on my '79 323i (same one sold by BMP Racing/Design) The headers and downpipes went in with no problems. However, when trying to install the resonator and attached pipes I can't get it through the tight spot by the differential. I'm fairly sure that the main problem is I don't have an overhead lift which would allow me to attack this from the proper angle. I'm considering dropping the differential to install the pipes. Does anyone know if this is necessary? I'm just looking for some good advice before I proceed.

I had that same system on mine until recently, worked well, good tourqe increase. I did have to have the car on a lift to install. You need to have a lot of angle to get the back part of the resinator to slide past the subframe, I will go in that way though.
The only problom I did have with it though is after a few months the pipes into and out of the resinator cracked a little and the way the warrenty works is you have to send it back, right! I just drilled holes at the ends of the cracks and welded it..  Jeff |
