Message:
I use a quart of ATF added to crankcase driven for 30 minutes at high speed then drain and service.
If there is slug it will be in suspension, ATF is 90% detergent.
Makes the inside gleam.

GM, Ford, Saab, Toyota used to recommend using kersosene to dump a quart in the engine after being drained to rinse the pan scum, no running with kerosene, please.
No ill affects on the many, over 5k, I have done this to.

If wanted you can use this as a time to clean the piston and valves of carbon also.
Run mega-dose of techron full strength stuff (not the watered down k-mart stuff) [mega-dose = 2 16oz can's in the last 1/4 tank. Run until almost empty. Fill up. Change oil!!).
With the engine at normal temperature and 2000 rpm allow the engine to ingest through a vacuum tube 12 oz of water from a softdrink can. Makes those pistons shine like new.
