323i racer 2.7L
Owner: Tricord
In registry since: Sunday, Apr 9th 4:56pm.
Year: 1981
Location: Belgium
Description
This is my fourth E21, a 1981 323i Automatic.
The car has nice features such as BBS front spoiler, heckspoiler, 3-spoke steering wheel, and a very nice interior.
Car suffers from major rust though.
Modifications and tuning
BBS front spoiler and BMW heckspoiler.
The car also features body stickers which give those nifty side stripes, I kinda like it! I looked it up and they\'re original BMW stickers.
Currently no mods, but this will be my future track racer. Planned mods are the following:
- 2.7L stroker based on the ETA block
- E30 323i cylinder head, 11:1cr
- 320/6 intake and carb
- Alpina B6 suspension with Ahle springs and Bilstein shocks
- Front Alpina B6 ventilated disc brakes
- Lightweight, interior removal, bitumen coating removal, cutting away obsolete platework, etc.
- Battery relocation to trunk
- 3.91 diff (as opposed to 3.45 stock) with 5-speed eco gearbox
- 15x7 rims with slicks, or at least proper tyres.
Will be quite fun when it\'s done ;)
Update:
So far the suspension has been replaced with Bilsteins all round with lowering springs. Four new Brembo brake discs have been fitted with race pads, and the interior has pretty much been stripped bare.
Parts for the 2.7 litre stroker are coming in, arrangements for a set of slicks are being made.

Update #3:

Many other little things on the list. The car is dirty, rusty and battered, but it sure is fast ;)
History
Unknown for the most part.
It used to belong to the first owner, who kept the car for 19 years. It was then sold, presumably in 2000, to the second owner, and unless there\'s another owner between me and the first one, I\'m third owner. |
