What is that 6"x8" vent on the top center of the dash for? This is where people typically put that Alpina guage cluster.
What will happen if you block that vent? It basically looks down on the center console AC ducts. But I dont see any connection to the AC other than to pull in air from the compartment.

this is no vent, earlier ('75) E21 had the single front speaker installed there.
During the whole lifecycle they did not change the design (the front speakers moved down to the a pillar) - see it as accesspanel to the
air ducts / venting levers.

Hmm.... I wanted to use it for audio too. cool.
The problem is that the ducts to the center vents are right there. You cant really put anything deep there. |
